About Madison Ferret Rescue
We take in surrendered ferrets, give them the veterinary care they need, and adopt them to homes that are ready for them.
Madison Ferret Rescue is run by the veterinarians at Healthy Pet Veterinary Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin. That means every ferret in our care is looked after by people who know ferrets well.
Our ferrets are adults and seniors
We do not have young ferrets. The ferrets who come to us are grown, and some are in their senior years. A few have ongoing medical needs. We tell you everything we know about a ferret before you decide, so there are no surprises.
How adoption works
Adoption is a conversation, not just a form. You start by filling out our adoption application. It helps us understand your home and your experience with pets. We read every application carefully and reach out within 7 business days.
If it looks like a good fit, we talk it through together, including each ferret's specific care. The application is the first step, not the whole story.
Before you apply
There are a few things every adopter needs. You must be 21 or older, have a real street address, and have a veterinarian who treats ferrets. If you rent, you need your landlord's permission. And if you already have pets, they should be up to date with their own vet. We explain all of this in the application.
